Three questions, so the guidance fits you
The sections stay the same. The tips, examples, and the way the AI writes your draft change based on your answers.
Are you a product manager?
Who will build it?
Who owns and pays for the product?
Who will use it?
Project or Feature Name
ActiveWhat are we naming this build? Keep it short and specific.
Why a dev team needs this
Every estimate, ticket, and status report will reference this name. Pick one and use it everywhere.
Refine this section
Answer a few follow ups and fold them in
Get short questions about what is still missing here, answer the ones you can, then have your answers merged into this section. Nothing changes until you accept.
Problem Statement
NextWhat problem are we solving? Who has this problem? Why does it matter now?
Business Objective
NextWhat metric moves, by how much, and over what timeframe? If you cannot answer that, the work is not ready to be built.
Work through each section in order, then walk the finished scope doc through verbally with your sponsors before it goes to the dev team. If you cannot answer a section clearly, that is the gap a developer would have had to guess at.
